Ma'ema'e Summer Program: Week 3

Summer School

This week, our kindergarteners, 1st graders, and 2nd graders learned about Little Fire Ants from a special invasive species presentation. 2nd graders were in focus mode as they raced to jot down their times tables. Once time was up, they held up their boards proudly to share how many multiples of 4 they wrote.

📖 ✏️ 💭

Kindergarten students worked hard to identify the beginning, middle, and end of the short story "Tanuki's gift."

Below, 1st graders practiced telling time by the hour and half hour with a partner!

3rd graders focus on their reflective writing as they continue reading The Lemonade War!

Enrichment Program

In Hawaiiana, students explored composting with earth worms, and delved into their musical skills as they learned to play the ukulele! (click on the arrows on the left & right sides of the large photo to scroll through the gallery)


1st graders went out to the courtyard to fly their decorated paper airplanes that they folded in Japanese class!

(Above) In Geography and STEM class, students folded up their white t-shirts and secured them with rubber bands to create awesome tie dye patterns like the ones you see below!



Kindergartners transformed paper into 'Chalk Water Art'



Mrs. Bandini's 1st graders had a sponge relay race to efficiently transport water to fill a cup using only a sponge!






4th graders showcased their soccer skills this week as they scrimmaged and played keep away in PE. ⚽️

Enrichment students, please wear shoes for PE on the following days:

Grades 3 & 4: 6/20 - 6/22

Kindergarten: 6/22 - 6/29

Grade 1: 6/30 - 7/8

Drop off times:

6:30 students enrolled in morning care

7:30 who are not registered in morning care, but will have breakfast at school

7:45 students who are not in morning care and not having breakfast
