Weekly update & Just Choose Luv video

Dear Maemae Ohana,

Our students continue to be a great source of joy, and we are so thankful for their flexibility, resilience, and excitement to be back on campus. Our faculty and students have done a great job abiding by Covid safety protocols, and we appreciate your partnership in helping us keep everyone healthy. With that being said, we do miss our usual gatherings, and the community fellowship that events like Family Fun Night and the Dolphin Dash provided.

While the past year has been challenging to say the least, there have also been many opportunities for us to learn and grow in caring for others, respecting each other even when we disagree, and putting the needs of others before ourselves. Now more than ever, we believe in choosing love, joy and kindness no matter the circumstance. While none of us are trained singers or dancers, we worked hard to put together this message by recreating, recording, mixing, choreographing, filming, and editing a remake to BTS’s “Boy With Luv.” Eighty faculty, staff, volunteers, and students are featured in this video.

We hope you enjoy it and that this helps you feel more connected to your Ma’ema’e ohana even while we are socially distanced.

“Choose love”,

Principal Uyeda
