The Student Council is hosting a Food Drive for the Hawaii Food Bank next week of April 12-16.
Many families are still struggling with food insecurity as they try to recover from the pandemic.
The Food Bank is requesting that people please consider participating in a "virtual food drive" and donate money (cash or check) instead of actual food items. The Food Bank can take advantage of their discounted buying privileges. For example, a $5 donation will allow them to get the equivalent of a ten pound bag of apples. $10 equals a twenty-five pound bag of potatoes and $15 will equate to thirty pounds of rice!
For the class competition, we will also credit the classroom the same poundage listed above for any cash donations.
