- Maʻemaʻe Elementary
February is Kindergarten Registration Month
Will your child or someone you know have a child turning 5 years old by July 31st? If so, please register them for Kindergarten ASAP.
The first step to registering is to check if you live within Ma'ema'e’s geographical area. Please use the Department of Education's SchoolSite Locator to generate a list of Elementary, Middle, and High Schools within your area.
If you live in the Ma'ema'e district please be prepared to complete/bring the following:
ID of Parent/Guardian
Student’s Birth Certificate
Custody Documents (if necessary)
You may complete the forms and print them in advance to expedite the process. Registration hours are Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm, excluding holidays.
The process should take 15-20 minutes if you are prepared.
If you DO NOT live within our district and wish to attend Ma'ema'e Elementary, you will need to apply for a Geographical Exception (GE). The application period is January 1- March 1 to enroll for the following school year. This is a strict deadline to qualify for our GE lottery. GE's are available at your home school. Paperwork must first be submitted through your home school. For more detailed information about GE Registration, please visit the Hawaii State Department of Education website.
