Academics

Ma‘ema‘e Elementary uses current educational research to maintain a viable, meaningful instructional program for students. Research based programs and strategies are consistently implemented to promote critical thinking and problem solving.

Reading Wonders, the State adopted curriculum, and text sets are implemented. Our school wide math curriculum, Eureka (EngageNY), is supplemented with Singapore math strategies. Eureka Math incorporates a variety of strategies to solve mathematical problems with scaffolding from concrete to abstract.

The i-Ready Program, our universal screener, is utilized school-wide in Reading and Math. The various reports that are available provide comprehensive data and differentiated interventions to meet the needs of each student.

Every other week, teachers articulate in grade level teams to analyze student work and determine strategies to differentiate instruction for students at various levels.
