Dolphin Discovery Zone
The Dolphin Discovery Zone is a new after school program where students can have fun designing and building fun and functional creative products, cooking kid-friendly foods, learning basic construction skills, crafting, graphic design, and using modern technology to create original products. A key component of the program will be entrepreneurship. Students will learn to market and sell their products within the school, and some products will be sold or auctioned through Family Night.
The program is open to students in Grades 4 and 5 during the 2023-24 school year. The program will be led by Mr. Chin, Mr. Ogomori, Mr. Tamayei, and Mr. Agbayani. Each session will be scheduled quarterly and class will meet Mondays and Fridays from 2:15-3:30 in Rm. 34 for 12 classes per-quarter. Students may participate for one quarter only and sign-up will include a ranking of preferences. Enrollment is limited and if the interest in the program exceeds capacity, students will be selected by lottery. Registration is open July 15-21 and parents will be notified by email of acceptance on July 24.
The fee for participation is $25 per-student and is due by August 2. No payment is due until your child is accepted. Payment by cash is due to the Maʻemaʻe School office, checks payable to Maʻemaʻe Elementary. If payment is not received by August 2, the student's spot will be forfeited.
