Distance Learning

Students who are enrolled in the Distance Learning Program will be enrolled in the Acellus program for instruction. Our staff is still going through training in the program, so please be patient as we still need to plan on how we will roll out to students and parents. More information will be sent to you via email soon.

Students in this program are not assigned to a homeroom teacher, and subsequently will not be added to the google classrooms or other virtual meetings with a teacher or class. In the event that a school closure is necessary, distance learning students will continue with Acellus.

Visit the Acellus website for more information about their programs.

Login credentials and other information will be share with you during our Distance Learning virtual Open House on Monday, August 17th at 3:00 p.m. Those who are unable to attend may view a recording of that presentation, which will be uploaded to this page at a later date.

Distance Learning

P.E., Career Technical Education, & Library Classes

It’s been a good start to our school year online for our Distance Learning students. We’re glad to see many of the students working hard at their assignments and seeing so many doing really well. We know that our students miss the social aspects of being with their classmates. Now that we’re more comfortable with Acellus, we are happy to announce that we will be expanding the online curriculum.

We are offering Physical Education (PE) with Mr. Ishikawa, Career and Technical Education (CTE) with Mr. Ogomori, and Library classes with Mrs. Domion for the distance learning students. Classes will begin the week of August 31st for students in grades 3-5 and September 8th for Kindergarten through grade 2. Classes will meet every other week, rotating between lower grades and upper grades. These classes will not be graded, however we do ask students to login at their designated times for each class so that they don’t miss important foundational information and skills needed for future lessons.

Schedules and login information will be posted in your child’s Google Classroom.

For P.E., the grade level will be split into two groups.  Each course will have a unique link to join the class, and the link and passwords will stay the same. For P.E., your child will receive an invitation to join a specific P.E. class so please be on the lookout to join!

Please note that in the event of a holiday, a make-up session will be scheduled and announcements will be made in google classroom. We will also have a Distance Learning calendar linked in the Distance Learning page of the school website, which will have the articulation schedule listed there as well. (www.maemaeschool.com)
